Sapa was by far one of our most favorite destinations in Vietnam. The people are incredibly kind and friendly, most people speak English and love American tourists. It's an ideal destination for any photographer looking to get away somewhere more hidden, to take beautiful photos, that are extremely unique and culturally diverse.
Sapa is famous for both its beautiful rural scenery, terraced mountains (where rice is farmed), and its rich cultural diversity. Sapa is an incredibly picturesque town that lies in the Hoang Lien Son mountain range near the Chinese border in northwestern Vietnam, known as "the Tonkinese Alps".
Its surrounding region is filled with beautiful valleys surrounded by rice terraces, lush vegetation, and Fansipan, the highest peak in Vietnam. It is also host to many hill tribes including the Black H’mong and Red Dao tribes who make beautiful unique ethnic-style clothes, jewelry, trinkets and blankets, to sell to tourists.
